CORONATION STREET PLAYS HOST TO ‘TOGETHER AT CHRISTMAS’ CAROL SERVICE

04/12/2025

Last week saw ITV’s Coronation Street provide the backdrop to one of 15 ‘Together at Christmas’ Community Carol Services, supported by The Royal Foundation.

As part of an annual celebration spearheaded by Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales, the services recognise those who have contributed in a special way to their communities through acts of love and kindness.

At the Coronation Street Visitor Centre at ITV Studios, the Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester welcomed over 100 members of the local community. Joined by Coronation Street cast members Sally Dynevor, Elle Mulvaney and Patti Clare, guests enjoyed carols and readings before being led by the Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Band down the famous cobbles for a grand finale outside The Rovers Return.

Guests at each oof the 15 services received a special letter from The Princess of Wales, thanking them for their special contribution. In her letter, The Princess reflected on the impact we have on one another, and how the festive season invites us all to remember the power of connection.

Speaking about the services, Amanda Berry CBE, CEO, The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, commented:

“Our Royal Foundation Community Carol Services embody the true spirit of the festive season. This December marks the fourth year that The Royal Foundation has had the privilege of supporting these special community gatherings, shining a light on truly remarkable people right across the UK. From small towns to major cities, these wonderful and uplifting occasions bring people together to honour those who have made a lasting difference in their communities throughout the year.”

With nearly 6,000 guests participating nationwide, the community carol services showcase the diversity of communities across the UK, combining traditional and modern elements to create meaningful celebrations for people of all faiths and none.

Alongside The Princess of Wales’ fifth ‘Together at Christmas’ Carol Service at Westminster Abbey, these regional services are a special Christmas thank you to inspiring individuals across the country.

The community carol services are proudly supported by Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation, providing vouchers for refreshments, and Hobbycraft, gifting craft sets to children attending the services as well as Christmas decorations.

The Westminster Abbey service will air as part of a special programme on ITV1 and ITVX this Christmas Eve.
