Developed in conjunction with The Royal Foundation and Walking With The Wounded, Step into Health is an NHS Employers programme, which provides a dedicated pathway for the Armed Forces community to access the numerous career opportunities available in the NHS.
Claire Vaughan, executive director of workforce and organisational development at the trust, said: “Our work with the Armed Forces community has shown us time and again the direct correlation between the values held by those in the military and our own Trust behaviours.
“We also recognise the wide range of skills and unique personal experiences which veterans and reservists can bring to the Trust.
Step Into Health has been nominated for an ‘Ex-Forces Initiative of the Year’ award in the forthcoming 2019 British Ex-Forces in Business Awards, the winner will be announced in May – more on this to follow then.
